Reboot - Inspired by Sick, Fat and Nearly Dead
I was watching Sick, Fat and Nearly Dead a documentary where Joe, a successful Aussie Dude decided to go on a trip to the US and face his addictions head on.....NON NUTRICIOUS, BAD FOR YOU, UNHEALTHY FOOD!
I was inspired by the thought of going on a 30 day juice reboot myself. After watching the documentary I started looking a various juicers and decided on an OMEGA J8004 model. It was delivered today and just made my first juice. A combination of kale, broccoli, celery, zucchini, red and green peppers, ginger and a bit of spearmint. All the things I had on hand in the fridge. The combination wasn't "bad" it was a bit interesting and was able to drink it. I would have never been able to eat over a pound of veggies that tasted that way. A pint of juice, I can swallow that (pun intended).
I'm going to do a bit of research and check out the www.sickfatandnearlydead.com website for inspiration on various juices. I'll keep you posted of my progress. The goal is to shed a bit of weight and become a healthier version of myself.
I'm going to do a round of CR500 and utilizing juice for the veggies. I'll keep track on what works and what may not. It will be an interesting concept on the "approved" food list. The idea of cruciferous (which are not on the list other than cabbage) veggies may work in juice form.
I will keep everyone posted. Let's see if I can take CR500 to another level. I happen to like juicing and feel it's super easy to get my veggie intake. I may not be doing as much of the animal proteins or sticking to mainly fish.
So far my favorite green drink recipe so far that I've come up with:
Lean Green Detox Machine
2 or 3 Kale Leaves
2 or 3 Ribs of Celery
Chunk of Ginger (optional)
Squeeze half a lemon or the whole lemon depending on your preference in tartness - great for cleansing
Put through the juicer, you could also put through a quality blender, however, it will be far thicker than juiced since it retains all the fiber. If using a blender add about 6 ounces of water to assist the blending process and smooth out the drink a bit.
Enjoy. I have also doubled or tripled the recipe if you drink within 24 to 36 hours.
